New England Conference Discipleship Training: A Weekend of Spiritual Growth and Empowerment

New England Conference Discipleship Training (Sept 20-22) focused on Bible study, prayer, obedience, and witnessing to strengthen faith and leadership.

From September 20th to September 22nd, the New England Conference of Seventh-day Adventists hosted a transformative Discipleship Training Event, offering participants a weekend of spiritual renewal and growth. Held at the New England Conference headquarters, the event featured interactive discussions and instructor-led seminars focused on four pillars of Christian discipleship: Bible study, prayer, obedience, and witnessing.

The event aimed to equip individuals with the spiritual tools necessary to deepen their walk with Christ and become effective leaders in sharing the gospel.

Bible Study: Unlocking the Power of Scripture
One of the central focuses of the training was Bible study. Participants learned techniques for studying scripture with greater depth and insight, allowing them to apply biblical teachings to their daily lives. Experienced instructors provided guidance on how to approach Bible study with an open heart and mind, making it a dynamic and personal experience.

The sessions emphasized the importance of grounding one’s faith in the Word of God, encouraging attendees to study the Bible regularly to gain wisdom and clarity on how to live out Christian principles. Many participants expressed how these sessions rekindled their passion for scripture and inspired them to lead Bible studies in their own communities.

Prayer: Strengthening Our Connection with God
The power of prayer was another major theme of the weekend. Through seminars and group discussions, participants were encouraged to develop a more intentional and powerful prayer life. Instructors emphasized that prayer is not only a form of communication with God but also a vital practice for spiritual growth.

Attendees learned various forms of prayer, including personal, intercessory, and corporate prayer, and how each can be used to deepen their relationship with God. They were encouraged to make prayer an integral part of their daily lives, trusting in God’s presence and guidance in all circumstances.

Obedience: Living Out God’s Will
A vital part of discipleship is learning how to live in obedience to God’s will. The sessions on obedience explored the biblical call to follow Christ’s teachings and submit to His direction in all aspects of life. Through biblical examples and personal testimonies, participants were reminded that true freedom is found in surrendering to God’s will and allowing Him to lead.

The discussions also highlighted that obedience requires trust in God’s plan and a willingness to step out in faith, even when the path is uncertain. Attendees left with a renewed commitment to live lives of obedience, knowing that it leads to spiritual blessings and growth.

Witnessing: Sharing the Good News with Confidence
The final aspect of the training focused on witnessing, the call to share the gospel with others. Participants were equipped with practical strategies for sharing their faith in everyday conversations, as well as how to effectively communicate the message of salvation. Instructors provided tools for engaging in meaningful dialogue, answering common questions, and building connections that open doors to discussing faith.

Witnessing is central to the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and attendees left feeling empowered to be bold and compassionate witnesses for Christ in their communities. Many shared how these sessions gave them the confidence and clarity needed to share their personal testimonies and invite others into a relationship with Jesus.

Conclusion
The New England Conference Discipleship Training was a powerful and enriching experience for all who attended. By focusing on the core elements of Bible study, prayer, obedience, and witnessing, the event provided participants with both spiritual renewal and practical skills for living out their faith.

As the weekend concluded, attendees left with a deeper understanding of their role as disciples of Christ, ready to share His love and truth with the world.
